For your information, it's useful to be aware that most of the cPanel-based Hosting offers on the current website hosting market are generated by a quite inconsiderable business segment (when it comes to annual cash flow) called hosting reseller. Reseller web hosting is a sort of a small-size marketing niche, which provides a great quantity of different web hosting brands, yet supplying strictly the same services: mostly cPanel web hosting services. This is bad news for everybody. Why? Because of the fact that at least 98% of the website hosting offerings on the entire web hosting marketplace furnish the very same thing: cPanel. There's no difference at all. Even the cPanel Hosting prices are similar. Quite similar. Giving those who need a top web hosting service virtually no other web hosting platform/web hosting CP alternative. Thus, there is simply one single fact: out of more than 200k web hosting trademarks in the world, the non-cPanel based ones are less than two percent! Less than two percent, mind that one...

200,000 "Hosting corporations", all cPanel-based, yet diversely branded

The Hosting "diversity" and the web hosting "offerings" Google reveals to us boil down to merely one solution: cPanel. Under 100's of thousands of different web hosting brand names. Imagine you are simply an average guy who's not well aware of (as most of us) with the web site making processes and the website hosting platforms, which in fact power the respective domain names and sites. Are you ready to make your hosting pick? Is there any web hosting variant you can settle on? Of course there is, nowadays there are more than 200k website hosting companies out there. Officially. Then where is the problem? Here's where: more than 98% of these more than two hundred thousand different website hosting brand names worldwide will give you the very same cPanel web hosting CP and platform, labeled differently, with absolutely the same price tags! WOW! That's how enormous the diversity on the current web hosting marketplace is... Full stop.

The Hosting LOTTERY we are all participating in

Simple arithmetic demonstrates that to come across a non-cPanel based web hosting firm is an enormous stroke of luck. There is a less than one in 50 chance that a thing like that will take place! Less than one in fifty...

The positive and negative aspects of the cPanel Hosting solution

Let's not be unfair with cPanel. At least, in the years 2001-2004 cPanel was modern and probably satisfied all web hosting market requirements. In short, cPanel can achieve the desired result if you have just a single domain name to host. But, if you have more domain names...

Drawback Number One: A laughable domain folder setup

If you have 2 or more domains, though, be very cautious not to remove completely the add-on ones (that's how cPanel will refer to each next hosted domain, which is not the default one: an add-on domain name). The files of the add-on domains are quite easy to erase on the hosting server, since they all are set up into the root folder of the default domain, which is the very famous public_html folder. Each add-on domain name is a folder placed inside the folder of the default domain. Like a sub-folder. Next time try not to erase the files of the add-on domain names, please. See for yourself how excellent cPanel's domain folder system is:

public_html (here my-default-domain.com is located)
public_html/my-family (a folder part of my-default-domain.com)
public_html/my-second-domain.com (an add-on domain)
public_html/my-second-wife (a folder part of my-default-domain.com)
public_html/my-second-wife.net (an add-on domain)
public_html/my-third-domain.com (an add-on domain name)
public_html/my-third-wife (a folder part of my-default-domain.com)
public_html/my-third-wife.net (an add-on domain name)
public_html/rebeka (a folder part of my-default-domain.com)
public_html/rebeka.my-third-wife.net (a sub-domain of an add-on domain)

Are you getting confused? We clearly are!

Weak Side Number 2: The same email folder setup

The electronic mail folder configuration on the hosting server is literally the same as that of the domains... Repeating the very same error twice?!? The admin blokes firmly fortify their faith in God when coping with the email folders on the electronic mail server, praying not to bungle things up too irreparably.

Predicament Number 3: A total absence of domain name management interfaces

Do we have to refer to the entire shortage of a contemporary domain name administration GUI - a location where you can: register/move/renew/park or manage domain names, modify domain names' Whois info, secure the Whois information, alter/create name servers (DNS) and DNS records? cPanel does not supply such a "modern" menu at all. That's a vast disadvantage. An unforgivable one, we would like to add...

Negative Aspect No.4: Multiple login places (minimum two, maximum three)

How about the demand for an additional login to use the invoicing, domain and technical support administration GUI? That's aside from the cPanel account login credentials you've been already provided by the cPanel Hosting company. At times, on the basis of the invoicing transaction system (especially developed for cPanel solely) the cPanel Hosting vendor is using, the devoted users can end up with 2 extra login locations (1: the invoicing/domain name administration tool; 2: the trouble ticket support platform), winding up with a total of 3 login locations (counting cPanel).

Negative Sign No.5: 120+ website hosting Control Panel menus to get acquainted with... quickly

cPanel presents for your consideration 120+ departments inside the CP. It's a fantastic idea to pick up each one of them. And you'd better memorize them briskly... That's quite impertinent on cPanel's side.

With all due veneration, we have a rhetorical question for all cPanel Hosting suppliers:

As far as we know, it's not the year 2001, is it? Note that one too...
